DeeDee DuGal - The Update

After graduating from Arlington mid-term in 1981 I immediately started working in the dental field. That satisfied me for a few short years during which time I met a man who would soon become my husband and ultimately my "Ex". I married him in 1982, after 9 years of marriage we divorced. I had two children during that marriage and have full custody of them both.

I left the dental field to pursue my real interest "Law Enforcement". I started working as a Police Dispatcher and did so until 1988 at which time I tested with the Riverside Police as an officer. I entered the academy and graduated six months later and sworn onto the Riverside Police Department as an officer. I worked in many different assignments during my career with Riverside PD. Specifically, Vice, (I did not care for that at all), field training officer and my absolute favorite position was in the Police Aviation Unit as a Police Helicopter Observer. I loved it. After twelve years on the department I was injured on duty which led to a medical retirement. They now pay me NOT to come to work. I took a year off and returned to work for the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department. I am assigned to the Sheriff's academy where I am an instructor for EVOC "Emergency Vehicle Operations Center" This is where we train police and sheriff cadets in slow and high speed vehicle operations.

I have never left the city of Riverside, I own a home in the La Sierra/Victoria area at the base of Lake Matthews.

My oldest child is "Rachel" she is now 19 years old and my youngest is "Buddy" who is 17 years old. This photo was for Rachel's senior photos, picturing both of my kids. Talk about feeling really old! Rachel is nothing like her mother, she does not like athletics and is incredibly smart, I can't help her with her homework type smart. Rachel spent last summer working with Robin "Harrison" Rogers from our graduating class. That was pretty weird too. Rachel is in her second year of college in pursuit of a career in the medical field, long term goal is an M.D. She will start with her nursing degree and build upon that.

My son is just the opposite, not real interested in his studies and does just what is required of him (however maintains straight A's) but he is quite the athlete. Buddy is currently a member of Arlington High's JV baseball team. As soon as he hit high school the telephone never stopped ringing, was it ok for girls to call boys when we were in school? Both kids are responsible and decent citizens of their community.

We consume our time trying to figure out which toy to play with every weekend. We enjoy weekends on our ocean boat, RV camping at Havasu and at the river. Hot summer nights rides on the Harley and just hanging out with friends and family. I am an animal lover and have two beautiful Boxers and one FAT Rottweiler. We have a half acre which we have filled with Chickens, goats, ducks etc.....!

I am in shock that we have been out of school for 20 years. From what I have seen so far everyone has done quite well for themselves.

I will be at the reunion, see ya there.
