Timothy Hixon - The Update

After high school I entered into the United States Air Force and discovered that I didn't like the military after all. Surprising since I was a "career" Jr. A.F.R.O.T.C. student while at Arlington. After my very short stint in the military (I washed out of basic training) I moved up to Spokane Washington where I lived for a little over 6 months. But being unable to support myself, I moved to Sacramento and stayed with a High School friend. After I got myself on my feet I went back to school started and finished an A.A. degree in Computer Information Systems before going back into the work force as a computer programmer. My first programmer job taught me that I liked network systems administration better than I did programming so I switched fields. I never got around to finishing education for a variety of reasons (procrastination is a family trait I think) and working far too many hours in my new career. I was married briefly and have no children of my own, though I have four wonderful nieces and nephews with number five on the way.

Currently I am a successful I.T. Analyst (another word for "you do everything" network administrator around here) for the Los Rios Community College District at the Cosumnes River College campus and have been for a little over two years. I am dating a wonderful woman who has been a friend of mine for the last seven years and am looking forward to her finally finishing her college degree so I don't have to commute 400 miles every weekend to see her (She lives in San Francisco a one way trip of 102.4 miles from doorstep to doorstep).

I am an avid historical, fantasy and science fiction miniature collector and player. I still find some time to engage in role-playing games with my friends as often as I can.
